On Tuesday 6th February, all pupils will take part in Safer Internet Day. During the afternoon, a session will be delivered on managing change online - the theme of this year's Safer Internet Day.
Technology is changing all the time, often at a rapid rate. Pupils will be encouraged to think about how technology has changed in their lifetime alone. What new developments have happened in the last 10 years? Pupils will consider how the internet can change our lives for the better and how it can have a negative influence too.
At Archbishop Temple Church of England High School, we want to ensure all our pupils are safe, in all parts of their lives, including online. If pupils have seen something online and it is worrying them, or something that has happened online is affecting them, we encourage pupils to speak to us.
This week, all pupils have taken part in Temple Time Safeguarding Online Safety sessions during form and Mrs McLean, Head of ICT and Computing, will be launching Safer Internet Day in assemblies next week.
Safer Internet Day is held every February in over 170 different countries. The goal of Safer Internet Day is to call on people across the world to work together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, but especially for young people. In the UK, the UK Safer Internet Centre run a campaign especially for the day which aims to start a national conversation about using technology safely and positively.
